As we prepare for the exciting transition to *Middle School*, we wanted to
provide you with a reminder of a few important dates:

*Thursday, April 14 / 7:30 PM LS Meeting House** *: Middle School
student panel- Middle School students will be available to provide a *student
view* of life in the Middle School and the transition. *This event is for
parents.* Please note, the rising 5th Grade will visit the Middle School
and have the opportunity to ask questions of current Middle school students
during a separate/child-focused event. Sally Selby, the Middle School Head
is also planning a visit to the Grade 4 classrooms to meet the students in
the coming weeks.

Tuesday, May 3rd / 7:30 PM MS Drama Studio**:* Middle School transition
meeting for parents- This parent meeting is adult focused and will provide
parents with an opportunity to meet the Middle School Administration and the
5th grade teaching team who will provide an overview of the Middle School
schedule, curriculum and plans to smoothly transition the class of 2019 to
the Middle School campus. * If you require childcare, please e-mail
sidwellgrade4@gmail.com, as a limited number of US students may be available
to provide coverage for this event.

*Saturday, May 14 / 4:30 – 6:30- **Middle School Lobby:* Scavenger Hunt for
rising 5th grade- A fun afternoon activity to help students learn their way
around the MS campus. *NOTE: the time of this event has changed: It was
pushed back an hour to accommodate known sports conflicts*. Parent
volunteers will be needed to man certain "check-points" so a parent sign-up
sheet will be distributed closer to the date.

*Tuesday, May 24 / 9:15 AM Middle School Lobby:* Parent Tour for those
parents that have not yet had a chance to tour the Middle School facility or
for those wanting a casual refresher.

*Friday, September 2nd/ 8:30 – 11:30 Middle School: **Orientation Day* – All
5th graders attend this orientation in advance of first day of school which
is Tuesday September 6th.

As the school year winds to a close, Sally Selby and her capable team will
be meeting with our 4th grade teachers to complete routine placement and
administrative tasks associated with the transition. Some of these meeting
will occur on the LS campus so your student may see Sally and/or 5th grade
faculty in the halls of LS.
