GOP Rep. Martha Roby will face former Democratic Rep. Bobby Bright in a Republican primary runoff next month, after Roby failed to get a majority of the vote in the primary in Alabama's 2nd District.

Roby had 39 percent to Bright's 29 percent when the Associated Press called the primary runoff with 65 percent of precincts reporting. Barry Moore was in third place with 19 percent. This is Roby's first primary since she announced in 2016 that she would not vote for then-presidential candidate Donald Trump, in the wake of a published tape that showed Trump bragging about committing sexual assault.
