I wish I had more of these to share, and I promise I will as we pull more together. In summary, things went very well today. Many of our Volunteers ended up seated right behind the Vice President when he was making his public address. At the meet and greet, the Vice President ended his time with us. We got an official photo taken with him and then he turned around and addressed approximately 75 Volunteers and 25 staff for almost 25 minutes. One highlight came when he mentioned that he was part of the Peace Corps generation. The Volunteer standing closest to him, Marion Adams, one of our third year Volunteers who is almost exactly the same age as Biden, said, “So am I.” He briefly turned to her, and threw his arm around her and hugged her to his side for almost 5 minutes as he continued to talk about the importance of the Peace Corps. When we left, the Volunteers were on cloud nine.


Thank you again for the assistance you provided in helping to ensure our Volunteers got time with the Vice President. This will be a highlight of their service and great continued motivation for quite a few months.
