I know many of you may find this surprising but on March 31st, I am hosting a Meet and Greet luncheon - a NON FUNDRAISING event - for a long time friend, Congressman Ted Deutch. As a new Member of Congress, Ted has a long career ahead of him in Congress and he asked me to put together some friends for him to meet as he navigates this new landscape.

Representing FL-19, Congressman Deutch was elected in the special election in 2010 replacing Congressman Robert Wexler and currently sits on the Foreign Affairs and Judiciary Committees. Despite his relatively short tenure in Congress, Ted has hit the ground running with legislative initiatives on behalf of Florida's 19th district. The Preserving our Promise to Seniors Act, his proposal to extend Social Security's solvency, ensure adequate cost of living adjustments for retirees, and improve benefits for all Americans was highlighted by The New York Times <http://deutch.house.gov/News/DocumentSingle.aspx?DocumentID 3929> as a comprehensive approach to strengthening our nation's most successful domestic program. Ted was recently highlighted by Roll Call<http://rothenbergpoliticalreport.com/news/article/change-on-the-horizon-for-house-democrats> as a young, rising voice in the House Democratic Caucus.
