Gents,

I have been wanting to have a local partner in SF and I think I may have
found one. Will Lee is a bootsrapped entrepreneur who started his own
software company, Theory Center, in 1999 with $2mm of friends and family
money which was acquired by BEA Systems in a stock deal originally valued
at $160mm which then rose to $700 million with stock price appreciation. He
has ridiculous street cred with entrepreneurs out here and is a great, and
very smart dude. Additionally, he would invest personally in the first
closing and thinks he can bring in $3-$5mm from his network for the first
closing. He has been investing personally since he sold his company and is
looking for a full time gig. He has a very technical background: computer
science, math and engineering degrees from Cornell and Carnegie Mellon so a
very strong complement to our team's skill set. He also speaks Mandarin and
Cantonese which may come in handy for fundraising at some point (now).

I would like him to meet you guys to see if you think he would be a good
cultural fit. My thought would be to add him as a venture partner in San
Francisco if you guys like him. He will attend the annual meeting but would
like to meet you guys earlier if possible. He and I will be in NY (and
possibly DC) on 3/20-3/22. he is going to intro some investors on the trip.

Are you guys in town those days? I'd like to bring him by to meet you.
Would also be good to get together to do a little work on Annual Meeting
prep.

Here is his bio:

Mr. Lee is a visionary enterprise software entrepreneur and an active
investor. Over the last ten years, he has built both successful products
and a portfolio of investments.

Prior to NextStage, Mr. Lee was Senior Director of Technology at BEA
Systems’ eCommerce Applications Group. He led and executed the group’s
technology sales strategies for worldwide markets. At The Theory Center,
Mr. Lee was Chief Technology Officer, and was the co-inventor behind the
company’s patented Enterprise JavaBeans component-based products which
became part of BEA's WebLogic Commerce Server.

Prior to co-founding The Theory Center, Mr. Lee was at Motorola, where he
led the development of mobile based operating systems and award-winning
component-based software.

Mr. Lee holds a Bachelor of Science with honors from Carnegie Mellon
University in Mathematics, Computer Science and Computer Engineering. He
also earned a Master's degree in Computer Science from Cornell University.
