Dear Hunter,

I would like to invite you to join me for a private salon dinner with His Excellency Mauro Vieira, Brazilian Ambassador to the United States, on Tuesday, July 29 at 6:30 p.m. at the Ritz Carlton in Washington, D.C (1150 22nd Street, NW).

In the last 20 years, Brazil's economy has tripled and the percentage of Brazilians living in extreme poverty has fallen to 2% in 2010. Brazil has shifted from being a recipient of foreign assistance to a donor in the Western hemisphere and Africa, as well as a growing regional actor and trading partner with the United States. This evening's dinner will bring together leaders from the business and NGO communities, former-policymakers, and experts to discuss how Brazil and the United States can work together bilaterally and on a broader vision for development and security based in local ownership and sustainability.
