As 2013 moves forward, the race for Rockland County Executive is kicking into high
gear. Our campaign has been out front on many of the key issues that impact Rockland.
At the same time, Suffern is better than ever, and its strength shows that government
can work when you have effective executive leadership and fiscal discipline.

Recently, I was joined by Assemblywoman Ellen Jaffee and community leaders, in announcing
that Rainbow Ace, a new family-owned anchor store, will be opening in Suffern at
the site of the OTB in the summer. The store is a best-of-best in home goods and
will bring with it 30 new jobs. Other Suffern revitalization projects this year
include residential development projects and the continuation of our façade program,

With Governor Cuomo's SAFE Act under attack in counties throughout New York, Rockland
needs a strong supporter of sensible gun legislation. Just last week, one of my
democratic opponents passed a resolution in the county legislature calling for

I have continued to be an outspoken advocate against the status quo in the East
Ramapo School District. The highly charged political climate has reached its boiling
point and all the children in the district are suffering. We need to fight for
more state funding to address East Ramapo's unique population. If state dollars
come with the cost of state oversight, then that's a price all Rocklanders must
