Last week I joined with 13 Attorneys General from states all across this nation, to continue the fight for marriage equality for same-sex couples.

The Supreme Court has before it two cases that could shape the future of marriage equality in this nation -- one to overturn California's Proposition 8, and another regarding the constitutionality of the Defense of Marriage Act.

There are many legal reasons that the right to marry should be extended to all loving couples, but the main reason is now, as it has always been: Denying Americans the basic right to marry is wrong and unconstitutional.
