I just wanted to touch base before the report cards go home to follow up
about Finnegan's progress in Spanish. As I mentioned in my recent
interim, she had significant difficulty on her two written quizzes this
term. However, I'm pleased to share (as I hope she herself already has)
that she showed marked improvement on her last two assessments of the
year, the project and oral test, which brought her overall average up to
a 73%. Therefore, I will not require her to complete summer work in
order to continue on to 7th Grade Spanish, although as I mentioned to
Finnegan, I still strongly recommend it. I will give some specific
guidance in her report about what she might want to focus on, but in
the meantime I encourage her to keep her portfolio, as it will be
helpful tool for anyone who works with her.
