Wednesday - June 8, 2011 From the School Message from Lee As we approach the end of the school year, I would like to thank everyone for your strength, trust, compassion, guidance and unfailing support and love of your children. It has been an honor, privilege and a joy to share this year’s journey with you, and I wish you a summer of fun, rest, and of peace. Here are some important dates to keep in mind for the near future: Thursday, 6/9: Final day of school ends at 2:00PM Friday, 6/10: Upper School Graduation - 10:30AM, Zartman Garden (Refreshments afterwards); Senior grades will be posted online Friday, 6/17: Grades posted online Monday, 6/20: Summer Studies begins Thursday, 6/30: Students, and parents of students, graduating or withdrawing have until June 30th to download their report cards and unofficial transcript. You will not have access to the SFS Student and Parent Portal after June 30th. Student schedules will be posted online at the end of July and you will be notified in advance of the exact date of posting. Upper School offices will be closed from Monday, August 1 to Friday, August 12 and all questions and/or concerns will be addressed when the offices reopen on August 15. In an emergency, please contact the school’s main number at 202-537-8100. During a very exciting and busy week, this quote from W.B. Find the schedule below. All exams start at 8:30 am, June 2- 8. Tuesday, 5/31 – Review Day (no new material introduced in class) Wednesday, 6/1 – Reading Day Thursday, 6/2 – Math Exam Friday, 6/3 – History Exam Monday, 6/6 – Science Exam Tuesday, 6/7 – Language Exam Wednesday, 6/8 – English Exam Thursday, 6/9 – Last day of school Parents should call the Dean of Students Office (202) 537-8160 if their children are sick or running late during exam week. * If a student is doubling up in any subject matter, she/he will take two exams on the same day the subject matter being doubled is scheduled. * If there is a need to make-up an exam due to illness and/or unusual circumstances, please contact the Academic Dean. * Any deviation from the master schedule of exams must be approved by the Academic Dean.
