Dear 4x Parents,
Wow - it's here -- Our last week of school and 4th grade graduation! It will be a fun (but emotional) week for all of us as we watch our children graduate from lower school. We are looking forward to this week's China Festival and Graduation!


* If you have not done so already, please print out the attached permission slip for the after-graduation pool party, and send it in to school by Monday, June 6th!
* JUNE 6: CHINESE FESTIVAL - 6:30pm-8pm.
* JUNE 7: MEETING FOR WORSHIP
Please join your child on Tuesday, June 7, at 1:30 pm for the final Meeting for Worship of the year. Grade 4 will be in the Meeting House, other grades will have an all-school meeting in the gym. Please arrive a few minutes early to get situated.
* JUNE 8: CANNED VEGGIES INSTEAD OF FRESH VEGGIES!
Please send your child to school with a canned vegetable or fruit or a healthy pantry item! Donated foods will be delivered to Martha's Pantry and A Wider Circle.
* JUNE 8: FIELD DAY VOLUNTEERS NEEDED
Lower School Field Day is Wednesday, June 8, 10:30 am to 2 pm. Parent volunteers are needed. If you would like to help, contact Mr. Fleming at flemingd@sidwell.edu<mailto:flemingd@sidwell.edu>.
* JUNE 9: LAST DAY OF SCHOOL ENDS AT NOON!
The last day of school for all Lower School students ends at noon, Thursday, June 9. The 4th grade graduation ceremony is 9:15 am to 10:00 am in the gym. Only 4th grade families are invited. All PK through Grade 3 students attend the graduation ceremony and then return to classrooms for the remainder of the morning. No lunch is served. The shuttle bus will run to the Wisconsin Avenue campus immediately after dismissal. There is no aftercare on June 9. The last day of aftercare is June 8.


* UPDATED GRADUATION INFO:
ATTIRE:
Boys - White dress shirt with collar or polo shirt (long or short sleeves); Dress pants, nice shoes, no jacket or tie.

Girls - Simple white or pastel dress or nice slacks and similar top. The outfit may be a solid color or with a subtle design. Dress shoes, flat or with a small heel.

The ceremony is scheduled to begin at 9:15 am on Thursday, June 9 in the Gym. Parking will be available on the front field (hopefully the weather cooperates). Fourth grade families should restrict invited guests to only close family members. The school cannot accommodate parties of more than six per family. The ceremony ends around 10:00 am. There will be a reception on the Breezeway following the event.

The 4th grade students will then get changed into their swim party attire at school and will walk to the Edgemoor Club Please remember to pack a swimsuit, towel and a change of clothing for your child. In the event of rain, the children will remain at Edgemoor for some indoor activities. The swim party is scheduled to take place 10:30 am - 12:00 noon, with refreshments until 1:00 pm. Students will not return to school and should be picked up at the Edgemoor Club.
