Attached please find the request to AMTRAK by Lovett Smith, the owner
of the New York Central 3 railroad. We are requesting that the car be
attached (as the caboose or the last car) to the Cardinal train on
Thursday, August 10, 2011, leaving from Union Station in Washington DC
(to Chicago)and dropping my family (wives, kids and grandchildren and a
few close friends) in White Sulfur Springs, WV. On Sunday, August 14,
2011, we will board the Cardinal train (from Chicago), hopefully, as
the caboose (or last car) in White Sulfur Springs, WV and go to Union
Station. We will be staying at the Greenbrier Hotel from August 10th -
14th. It should be an awesome few days if we can be the last car. If
not, I am not sure the value (for the kids) of taking the private car
that has a back porch. I took rented the NYC 3 four years ago and took
my 96 year old Father from White Sulfur Springs to Union Station. Other
than eating, we spent the entire afternoon sitting on the porch. It was
very special. Thank you for trying to help us to be the last car.
