Also in the category of "not sure how real it is" but Andrew Goldman says that he and a couple of partners (he seems to have many) are working on trying to securitize renewable energy PPAs. In essence very similar to what Iberdrola wanted to do on Matador, but instead of getting equity investors they would securitize the return on the PPAs and sell that. Smart concept, not sure they have the ability to pull it off, but interesting. Looking for a law firm to help put the structure together. Said they were interviewing law firms and assume they have money to pay. He knows Chris from the fundraising days and seemed to want to hire Boies if the fit was right.
