Dear R., Thanks to all who participated in our annual Walk In Her Shoes fundraising event which launched on International Women's Day, March 8. It was an amazing week of compassion, determination and progress. For seven days, 2,400 supporters walked 10,000 steps a day in solidarity with women and girls who trek that far every day to fetch safe drinking water and meet other basic needs for their families. With teams of walkers on six continents inspired by Honorary Chair Sheryl Sandberg, COO of Facebook, the event was truly global including participation in Australia, China, Colombia, Great Britain, Rwanda and the United States. We raised more than $425,000 to help fund CARE's poverty-fighting programs that create opportunities for economic advancement in more than 90 countries. View the photos and videos of the event on our Facebook page: http://my.care.org/site/R?i=KIFyQEgoaSHZm0Ds8zuOvg We are truly grateful to our generous corporate sponsors: Dentons, Delta Air Lines, The Coca-Cola Company and UPS. Their support and contributions propelled this endeavor to an even greater level of success. I particularly want to thank our corporate teams, which formed employee teams in their offices around the world. As I write this message, our programmatic team at CARE is identifying areas of greatest need in countries all around the world. We will invest these new funds in programs that empower women and girls -- along with their families and communities -- so they can fulfill their natural potential and realize their biggest dreams. If you would like to make an additional contribution to support this campaign, make your donation by March 31, 2017. Join us at our 2017 CARE National Conference for three days of inspiration, learning, networking and advocacy, concluding with face-to-face congressional meetings on Capitol Hill. This year's Conference theme, "Now More Than Ever," underscores the critical moment we face in the history of U.S. foreign assistance. There has never been a better time to link the challenges before us with the opportunity to meet them. More information here: http://my.care.org/site/R?i=MZdUmQAij4VmeIV_9L7E2w Do you have questions?
