votevets.org [ http://www.votevets.org/ ] About VoteVets.org [ http://www.votevets.org/about/ ] Dear VoteVets.org Supporter, With the holiday season upon us, once again we would like to keep in the spirit of giving, by asking you to support a non-profit that helps our troops, veterans, and their families. In the past, you've donated tens of thousands of dollars each year to worthy causes. Today, I would like to ask you to donate to another great organization, the Yellow Ribbon Fund. [ https://org2.democracyinaction.org/o/6676/shop/custom.jsp?donate_page_KEY=3320 ] *CLICK HERE TO MAKE A DONATION TO THE YELLOW RIBBON FUND* [ https://org2.democracyinaction.org/o/6676/shop/custom.jsp?donate_page_KEY=3320 ] The Yellow Ribbon Fund (YRF) is the only non-profit helping the injured at Walter Reed and the National Naval Medical Center that donates free rental cars to the military family members staying at the hospitals who need them and is also the only group to have a program dedicated solely to helping the caregivers of the injured. YRF was founded in February of 2005 to help injured service members and their families who are recuperating at Walter Reed Army Medical Center and the National Naval Medical Center. In just five short years, contributions made through the Yellow Ribbon Fund have provided the following for injured service members and their families: thousands of rental cars, taxi rides, hotel rooms and apartments, so family members of the wounded can visit their loved ones. Additionally, YRF has organized outings to sports events, concerts, plays, dinners, and golf games for the wounded, and even built a 10,000 square foot patio with gas grills and fireplaces right at Walter Reed, with a playground for children of the wounded right next to it. The Yellow Ribbon Fund established an Ambassadors Program that supports the injured service members when they return to their home towns, too. YRF continues supporting them with companionship, career guidance, job opportunities, job training or higher education. Currently, they have 24 ambassadors ready to help our vets when they need it, at home. On top of all of that, they help make the lives of caregivers easier (95 percent of whom are women) with massage and spa days, and movie and dinner nights. * CLICK HERE TO SUPPORT THE YELLOW RIBBON FUND'S WORK* [ https://org2.democracyinaction.org/o/6676/shop/custom.jsp?donate_page_KEY=3320 ] This is a truly great organization that cannot continue its work without financial help. I know times are tough, economically, but they're even tougher for those who come home from war, wounded. The Yellow Ribbon Fund is right there to make these tough times a little bit easier, both for the wounded and their families. They deserve our help. So, please, click on the link above, and give what you can afford. On a personal note, as you know, I am heading back to Iraq in the New Year. I'll carry with me all we have done together. I would consider it a great gift if I could leave knowing that our last act of 2010 was to donate a big check to the Yellow Ribbon Fund. So, let's make it happen. All the best this holiday season, a wonderful 2011 and beyond to you and your loved ones. Sincerely, Jon Soltz VoteVets.org Paid for by VoteVets.org Action Fund _________________________________________ VoteVets.org [ http://www.facebook.com/pages/VoteVetsorg/8501031021 ] [ http://www.twitter.com/votevets ] [ http://www.youtube.com/votevets ] You are subscribed to this list as hbiden@senecaga.com.
