Dear VoteVets.org Supporter,

Yesterday, the National Defense Authorization Act, including a repeal of "Don't Ask, Don't Tell" was brought back to the Senate floor. This bill must pass, but unless you act, passage is in doubt. We need you to get on the phone for two minutes, and tell your Senators that you support a passage of the bill with a repeal of "Don't Ask, Don't Tell."

We have told you in the past why a repeal is so important. This vote might be our last, best chance in a long time to make it happen. Next year, a new Congress comes in, which will be much less likely to consider a repeal. So, imagine for a moment, that in a few days it goes down in defeat, and you didn't call your Senators to make your position clear. Would you have regrets? Well, don't let that happen. Call your Senators, right now.

If you believe in a stronger military, you support a repeal. If you believe in the military encouraging service members to be fully honest, and not lie to the members of their unit about who they are, you support a repeal. If you stand with 70 percent of the military, who have no problem serving with openly gay and lesbian troops, you support a repeal. If you stand with Defense Secretary Gates and Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, Admiral Mullen, you support a repeal. But, your Senators will never know that you do, unless you tell them, right now.
