If you remember, a few weeks ago we were in Hunter's office for a conference call with Arlene. When the call was over we briefly discussed my son's status with his West Point appointment process and you asked if we needed any help, possibly with someone weighing in on his behalf. I told you that he had rec'd two nominations (Warner and Connelly) and we were waiting for a decision on an appointment so I didn't ask to do anything. However, I found out this week that he is currently in a wait-listed status; 80 percent of appointments have gone out, 50% have been confirmed and the final appts will go out after February 28th. The Academy is accepting approx. 100 fewer applicants this year (they took 100 more than normal last year) so it's even more competitive than normal.
So, here's the ask... If you know anyone who might have some pull on the process it would be great if they weighed in. I don't know if you still have his resume; I can re-send if you don't. We were told that the Academy was waiting on the Fall semester transcripts which they rec'd from our high school last week (he had straight A's). Anything you can do would be tremendously appreciated... Now it's crunch time and every little bit could help. It would really make up for that whole China PNTR thing :)
