Dear Rowing Team Parents, We like to put our practice schedule out far enough in advance to allow everyone opportunity to plan. Unfortunately, we are in early March, the time of year when weather and water conditions are hard to predict and our clever plans get outsmarted by Mother Nature. Tomorrow, Wednesday, we hope to be on the water for the first time this season. We will meet at TBC at 5:30. If conditions are right, we will head out. If not, we will need to move to the gym. For the balance of the week, we had planned to have a no practice day on Thursday in exchange for a practice Saturday morning with the understanding that some on the team have SAT's and other prior commitments. We thought it was a good trade--a longer practice in daylight at this time in the season would be very valuable. Unfortunately, all indications are that we are in for significant rain beginning on Thursday and we expect that the Potomac water level will be too high for us to practice on the water on Friday and Saturday. For that reason, we'd like to stick with the normal schedule with practices on Thursday and Friday and not on Saturday. Everyone should stay alert for updates on whether we will be on the river or indoors. We appreciate your flexibility as we try to adjust our training to meet the March weather. Brooke and Ted
