<p class="p2" style="font-stretch: normal;"><span style="font-family: Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 9pt;">We are excited to share this year’s SFS prom schedule with you. The prom will be held on Friday, May 25th, 2018 at the Four Seasons Hotel in Washington, DC and is for both Junior and Senior classes. Students should plan to meet at the SFS parking garage at 8:15 pm to ride buses to the hotel where they will enjoy a sit-down dinner, DJ-led dance, and a great post-prom party and return by bus to SFS at 2 am.</span></p>
<p class="p2" style="font-stretch: normal;"><strong><span style="text-decoration: underline; font-size: 9pt; font-family: Arial, sans-serif;">Registration & Payment:</span></strong><span style="font-size: 9pt; font-family: Arial, sans-serif;"> Prom invitations will be posted on students’ lockers today. Students need to <strong>RSVP by May 11th</strong> and pay for the prom online at <a href="https://webapps.pcrsoft.com/Campus/Common/Service.aspx?notId=656236&scn=Sidwell&linkId=3067"><strong><span style="color: blue;">www.sidwell.edu/prom2018</span></strong></a>. Please note that registration is on the student portal and students should register themselves. Everyone is welcome to bring a fellow SFS classmate or a guest from outside Sidwell, but there is no need to have a date. It is very common for students to attend together as a group.</span></p>
<p class="p2" style="font-stretch: normal;"><strong><span style="text-decoration: underline; font-size: 9pt; font-family: Arial, sans-serif;">Dinner Seating:</span></strong><span style="font-size: 9pt; font-family: Arial, sans-serif;"> When registration closes on May 11th, students will be sent a Google document to request with whom they would like to sit. They will be asked to group themselves into parties of six. They can then request to sit with another group of six, if they have one, or we will place them with one. If they don’t have a group of six, no worries! They can let us know four, two, or even one person with whom they want to sit, and we will make every effort to make sure everyone sits with friends.</span></p>
<p class="p2" style="font-stretch: normal;"><strong><span style="text-decoration: underline; font-size: 9pt; font-family: Arial, sans-serif;">Dress Code</span></strong><span style="text-decoration: underline; font-size: 9pt; font-family: Arial, sans-serif;">:</span><span style="font-size: 9pt; font-family: Arial, sans-serif;"> The Sidwell tradition is suits or tuxedos. Juniors traditionally wear shorter (cocktail) dresses and Seniors wear longer dresses (formal gowns). Students should bring a change of clothes for the post-prom party, which is also held at the hotel. They will have a place to store their clothes and other personal items in dressing rooms provided by the hotel.</span></p>
<p class="p2" style="font-stretch: normal;"><strong><span style="text-decoration: underline; font-size: 9pt; font-family: Arial, sans-serif;">Prom Swag:</span></strong><span style="font-size: 9pt; font-family: Arial, sans-serif;"> It is a Sidwell tradition to provide prom swag, and this year, the student prom committee chose joggers for all attendees. Students will select their size <strong>today</strong>. These joggers will be handed out at the prom and can be worn at the post-prom party.</span></p>
<p class="p2" style="font-stretch: normal;"><strong><span style="font-size: 9pt; font-family: Arial, sans-serif;">Prom Night</span></strong></p>
<p class="p1" style="font-stretch: normal;"><span style="color: black; font-size: 9pt; font-family: Arial, sans-serif;">· <strong><span style="font-family: Arial, sans-serif;">Pictures</span></strong>: In the past, families have gathered together prior to prom to take pictures before the actual event. Please don’t feel this is necessary as there will be plenty of photo opportunities at the prom.</span></p>
<p class="p2" style="font-stretch: normal;"><span style="font-family: Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 9pt;">· </span><strong style="font-family: Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 9pt;">Transportation</strong><span style="font-family: Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 9pt;">: All students must travel to and from the prom via transportation provided by Sidwell. Students will meet at SFS at 8:15 pm to board the buses to the hotel. Faculty chaperones will be on each bus. Students return to SFS on the buses at 2 am with parent chaperones.</span></p>
<p class="p2" style="font-stretch: normal;"><span style="font-family: Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 9pt;">· </span><strong style="font-family: Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 9pt;">Schedule</strong><span style="font-family: Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 9pt;">: Students check-in at the hotel and then enjoy appetizers and non-alcoholic drinks. Dinner will be served at 10 pm with a DJ and an option for dancing throughout dinner. At 11:45 pm, students will change out of their prom clothes in dressing rooms (male/female). The post-prom party takes place at the hotel from midnight until 1:45 am where the students will enjoy desserts, candy bar, games, photos, and a small raffle with parent-donated prizes.</span></p>
<p class="p2" style="font-stretch: normal;"><span style="color: #232323; font-family: Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 9pt;">We have tried to plan a safe and inclusive prom for everyone. We hope all Juniors and Seniors attend and enjoy the evening.</span></p>
