Dear Board of Directors, Thanks to all who joined our board call yesterday afternoon - more soon on that front. In the mean time, I wanted to pass on one special request. In addition to our all-important Board meetings, there are only two other times a year we ask you to attend USGLC events. The first is our Tribute Dinner on December 5th this year - so please do mark your calendar. But the other signature event is our annual State Leaders Summit scheduled for June 18 in D.C. and we definitely want to put you to work this year. Here's why: § Last year, when it came to the Green Room or visiting with our VIP Summit attendees - including Mayors and important state elected officials - there just weren't enough of us. § We always have multiple agendas for each speaker and influential Summit attendee - but we can't succeed without Board leadership helping to engage with these unique guests. Board members like Sarah Thorn, Kristin Lord, Eric Reading, and so many others - who have participated in the past - can certainly tell you: it's worth your time. § This year, we're adding a very special tribute luncheon - celebrating the original Senate co-sponsors of PEPFAR - Daschle, Lugar, Frist, Biden, Kerry - marking the 15th anniversary of this historic legislation. Not only do they deserve the recognition, but this moment allows us to shine a spotlight on the premier bipartisan success story. We will want you to host our VIPs. Here's the schedule: § Monday, June 18 - Summit Day One for Green Room and State Leader Engagement and PEPFAR Tribute Lunch § Tuesday, June 19 - Capitol Hill Day is optional, though you may want to volunteer to be a group leader Please try to attend on Monday - especially lunchtime. In between sessions, we'll have a quiet workspace just for Board members where you can tackle emails and make calls. The fact is that your presence really is a game changer. So if you can come for any or all of the day on June 18, you will once again make a huge difference. Please RSVP to Melissa at mlieberman@usglc.org<mailto:mlieberman@usglc.org> and be sure to add it to your calendar with these links (Outlook<http://www.usglc.org/media/2018/01/2018--USGLC-State-Leaders-Summit.ics>, iCal<http://www.usglc.org/media/2018/01/2018-USGLC-State-Leaders-Summit.ics>, Gmail<https://calendar.google.com/event?action=TEMPLATE&tmeid=M3JhcXJqcGc0b2pqMWhtY2dxOXFjaGRxZTAgdXNnbG9iYWxsZWFkZXJzaGlwQG0&tmsrc=usgloballeadership%40gmail.com>).
