Hi Hunter. I hope you are well. I know you are swamped, and we haven't talked in ages, but for this invite - I wanted to flag it for you (since technically you are still on the board, and hopefully will stay so.)

Background
This year marks the 15th anniversary of the launching of PEPFAR. Your dad was instrumental in creating one of the most historic bipartisan legislative success stories that has saved more than 13 million lives. His leadership role working both ends of Pennsylvania Avenue, bipartisan and bicameral, to solve a global crisis is a model that we have unfortunately walked away from. It is time we honor those that inspired this program and who have stood for and still stand for the power of America's global leadership.

Invitation
On June 18, in Washington, D.C. the USGLC will host a very special tribute luncheon to honor the key players of that time - from President Bush, who unfortunately cannot attend but we will be recognized, to the champions on Capitol Hill focused on the original sponsors of the legislation. We not only wish to honor each of them, but to invite the Vice President and others to participate in a discussion on lessons learned from PEPFAR that are relevant to tackling today's global challenges.

Why Say Yes?
Needless to say, your father more than deserves the recognition. His role was irreplaceable. While we have honored him before, this is a unique opportunity to draw attention to his role in one of the greatest success stories ever, since the Marshall Plan - which coincidentally celebrates its 70 year anniversary this year. This is a great opportunity to reinforce his unique experience, success, vision in contrast to today's chaos.

The audience of 600-700 will include our highly influential State Leaders - from "purple America" - particularly the Heartland and Rustbelt. Business, faith and military leaders joined together, along with our national coalition of leaders.
