EMAIL DETAILS

I apologize for the all the phone troubles I was having. I have a new
blackberry and those issues are over. It has been a difficult month. I have
been interviewing like crazy and my top prospects just called (within five
minutes of each other) to let me know that they decided to go in a different
direction, e.g. hire someone with more direct experience. My ego is in tact,
but I'm feeling a bit lost (surprise, surprise). I am sensitive to the fact
that I sound like a broken record, which only makes things more difficult.
I'm not looking for pity, because I know that I have many great things going
for me. I need to find some direction. You can appreciate the need to do
whatever one can to make sure that the bills and debts are paid- even if it
isn't pleasant. I made many hasty and difficult decisions over the past four
years to get myself out of debt and on an even keel. The feedback about my
work experience- from a variety of sources- is that I am all over the map.
There is little appreciation of the fact that I have remained employed and
succeed in a variety of sales positions against great odds. Somehow, I have
got to stake-out a career and go whole hog. DDC is not the place for me to
build a career- I can't fake long-term relationships with lobbyists and
government affairs people who are against everything I believe in. Anyway,
I'm ranting here. The pressure of Anna's lack of work and my career dilemma
is really getting to me. Sometimes it helps to just get it out and I thought
an email might be less of a downer.

If it looks like we might be able to get together for cigars on Thursday
night, it would be great to see you. I know you are juggling far more than I
am! Hope you're doing alright. -Josh
