The U.S. Department of Transportation will host “From Recovery to Beyond: Small Businesses Thinking Big” Small Business Summit on April 20, 2011. This event will be held at the Renaissance Mayflower Hotel, 1127 Connecticut Avenue, NW, District of Columbia. The current Administration is committed to fueling recovery through small business, and this summit is an opportunity for influential stakeholders to come together and learn from each other.

On behalf of Secretary Ray LaHood and the U.S. Department of Transportation, I would like to cordially invite you to participate as a speaker during our opening panel, “CEO Leadership Roundtable”, which will take place from 9:30 am-10:45 am. The panel will be moderated by Mr. John W. Rogers, Chairman, Ariel Investments, LLC. The panel discussion would be our highest profile event and opening session. It is an opportunity to share the successes of leading or working for a high profile business, your experience with Transportation, your defining moment in business, the role of minorities and women in business in today’s society and overall critical information that every small business should know.

With over 1,000 participants from across the country, this national business forum will examine the current economic climate as well as address the specific challenges encountered by small businesses.
