Hello 4x, A few reminders for this week, plus news from the SFS Parents Association. This week is Conference week, so please take note of the altered school schedule below. Also, your child's report card was posted on the parents' portal of the Sidwell website. Merry and Pam ask that you please send them an email (if you haven't already), prior to the conference, to acknowledge that you received the report card. Please also be on time for your parent/teacher conferences this week! * Tuesday, March 1st - Lower School half day dismissal at 12:15pm. * Thursday, March 3rd - Half Day w/Service Day (afternoon) * Friday, March 4th - No school for Lower school. 4x - Veggie Cutting for Martha's Table. We still need another parent or two to help us prep veggies for student cutting on March 16th, from 8:30 - 9:15. Parents do not have to stay to help students cut. Please email if you are available - so far, we have one parent (Thanks Brooks!), and need one or two more! COMMUNITY SERVICE CORNER FOOD, TOILETRIES, AND BABY ITEMS FOR OUR NEIGHBORS Reach into your pantry to help a neighbor in need. We are collecting food, toiletries, and baby items to benefit Martha's Table, Bethesda Cares and A Wider Circle. All unopened food is welcome, even individual packets of oatmeal. Please drop off items in Manor House through Wednesday, March 2. WEEKEND VOLUNTEERING FOR FAMILIES IN MARCH Weekend slots fill quickly. A Wider Circle Join SFS families at A Wider Circle in Silver Spring on Sunday, March 13, from 1-2:30 pm. Volunteers will help sort children's clothing, household items, pantry foods and furniture. Your time will greatly benefit AWC's Neighbor to Neighbor as they help families who are just leaving shelters to make a warm, safe, and comfortable home. All families welcome (ages 4 and up), PK and Second Grade families encouraged. Please RSVP to Sara Jane Harris, sjrharris@comcast.net<mailto:sjrharris@comcast.net>. Martha's Table On Saturday, March 5 from 10 am to 12:30 pm, we have 12-15 volunteer slots to work at Martha's Table making and bagging donated food to feed people who are hungry throughout the city. You can even take a tour through the kitchen where you will see the enormous pot your Wednesday Veggies fill to make the famous Martha's Table soup! All families welcome (ages 4 and up), First and Third Grade families encouraged. (Families can leave earlier than 12:30 pm if they need to.) Please RSVP to Felice Roggen at froggen@mac.com<mailto:froggen@mac.com>. Please do not sign up unless you can commit to the morning as this will prevent another family from using the slots. LOWER SCHOOL FAMILY SWIM PARTY Rollingcrest-Chillum Splash Pool, Saturday, February 26, 5:30 to 7:30 pm. ERB TEST RESULTS & WORKSHOP Rich Lodish will present a workshop for parents on interpreting (or misinterpreting) the ERB test results on Thursday, March 3, at 7:30 pm in the Lower School Meeting House. SPARC CONFERENCE DAY PROGRAMS Sign up for next week's half and full-day SPARC Conference Day Programs! Deadline is Monday, February 28.
