Today, approximately 1.06 billion people live without electricity. 2.1 billion people lack access to safely managed drinking water. 250 million children in the world cannot read, write, or do basic math. Especially in developing countries, we need more and better infrastructure as well as other basic services. Yet, countries around the world struggle to find expertise and money to deliver. Public Private Partnerships are a potent tool in governments’ arsenals, but can be tricky to get right. A new World Bank Group report (http://bpp.worldbank.org/?utm_source=CSIS+All&utm_campaign=a0060e2259-EMAIL_CAMPAIGN_2018_04_04&utm_medium=email&utm_term=0_f326fc46b6-a0060e2259-145367789) says that governments still lag in preparing, procuring, and managing PPPs well. It offers recommendations to improve the quality of regulations and better deliver infrastructure service through PPPs. Please join us for a panel discussion on Procuring Infrastructure PPPs 2018 on April 17. Early lunch will be served at 11:30 a.m. ============================================================ This event is made possible with generous support from the World Bank Group. ** 4bde2700-3f50-471c-8398-aaf2d39e7ea7.png (https://twitter.com/CSIS_USLD?utm_source=CSIS+All&utm_campaign=a0060e2259-EMAIL_CAMPAIGN_2018_04_04&utm_medium=email&utm_term=0_f326fc46b6-a0060e2259-145367789) ** a4a0cd19-112c-4480-b04d-b5fc26ca3857.png (https://www.facebook.com/USLD.CSIS/?utm_source=CSIS+All&utm_campaign=a0060e2259-EMAIL_CAMPAIGN_2018_04_04&utm_medium=email&utm_term=0_f326fc46b6-a0060e2259-145367789) ** 261d59cf-ea67-42eb-b72d-cf453b4ca660.png (https://itunes.apple.com/us/podcast/building-future-freedom-prosperity/id1163347389?mt=2&utm_source=CSIS+All&utm_campaign=a0060e2259-EMAIL_CAMPAIGN_2018_04_04&utm_medium=email&utm_term=0_f326fc46b6-a0060e2259-145367789) Click ** to subscribe (https://itunes.apple.com/us/podcast/building-future-freedom-prosperity/id1163347389?mt=2&utm_source=CSIS+All&utm_campaign=a0060e2259-EMAIL_CAMPAIGN_2018_04_04&utm_medium=email&utm_term=0_f326fc46b6-a0060e2259-145367789) to our international development podcast, featuring Director Daniel F.
