Hello Hunter,

Great speaking with you last week.

I wanted to follow up on a potential call with Chet Burrell of
CareFirst Maryland. (I'll send you a few separate emails on the other
threads.)

Here's a summary of where we stand with CareFirst. As noted below, we
are in a relatively good position here. The goal with speaking with
Chet is to help continue the momentum at the Technology Evaluation
Committee level. Do let me know if you have any questions.

- On 1/11 met with Russ Wilbar, Sr. Medical Policy Analyst, part of
Dr. Wynn's technology assessment and health care policy team

- Objective of meeting was to address his questions about the
analytical validity, clinical validity and clinical utility of our
test

- Our team including our Lab Director, William Seltzer, walked through
each component with Russ and we left him a reference binder with our
validation process.

- Since we were not able to speak to the technology assessment
committee before their meeting on 12/15/11, it seems Russ and the
CareFirst technology assessment team did not have enough information
to make a decision at the end of last year

- After our meeting/conversation with Russ, he said that he feels our
test does meet the requirements and he is going to look more in depth
at the reference binder we left with him. Assuming all the details of
the information are in line with his expectations he said he would
sponsor our test at the next technology assessment meeting on 1/26 and
did not see any objections.

- We are scheduled to follow up with Russ in the next week before 1/26
to see if any add'l questions or concerns have come up.

- We have many clinics in the area that are using Counsyl including
Shady Grove who also sent a letter of endorsement to John Shematek and
Bruce Edwards.
