I've heard the word "can't" quite a bit in my career. Kamala, you can't beat a two-term incumbent to become the first female, African American, South Asian District Attorney of San Francisco.

No, Kamala -- you can't defeat six opponents in a primary and come out as California's first female, African American, South Asian Attorney General.

Listening is a big part of my job as a prosecutor. But I've never been good at hearing the word "can't."

For example -- I've been hearing we "can't" hit or FEC Pre-Primary goal in the next 6 hours. We're just too far behind at this point. I don't believe that for a second -- I need your help to prove the naysayers wrong.

You know what's worse than people telling me I can't do something? Someone telling hard working Californians they can't do something.

No child should feel they can't get a high quality public school education because of the neighborhood in which they live.

No student should think they can't go to college because it costs too much.

No woman should be told she can't make her own decisions about her body.

No person should live in the shadows because Washington can't pass comprehensive immigration reform.

No hard-working American should believe they can't find a job that will support their family.

America is a place built on "can," where opportunity exists for everyone. That's the America I want to work toward in the United States Senate.

We can build that America together as long as we hit each and every goal. And trust me, we can hit this FEC Pre-Primary goal in the next 6 hours. If you can, get your contribution in.

I'm looking forward to the next phase of this campaign. But we have to get through this one first.
