Joseph Robinette Biden III was born in Wilmington, Delaware on February 3,
1969. He graduated from Archmere Academy, the University of Pennsylvania,
and Syracuse University's College of Law. He began his career as a clerk for
the U.S. Department of Justice in New Hampshire, then moved to the Office of
Policy Development in the U.S. Department of Justice, Philadelphia. Major
Biden was a federal prosecutor in the United States Attorney's Office from
1997-2004 before returning to private practice.

Following the terrorist attacks of September 11, 2001, Major Biden pursued
military service where he was commissioned a first lieutenant in the 261st
Signal Brigade on August 25, 2003 as part of the Judge Advocate General
Corps. In November 2006, Major Biden was elected Delaware's 44th Attorney
General where he was an outspoken supporter for the protection of children
and consumers.

In October 2008, he deployed to Iraq with the 261st. Following his return,
he remained in the Delaware National Guard, promoted to Major, and actively
served in the State Staff Judge Advocate's office until his passing on May
30, 2015.
