to defending him as well as this. Uncle Joe is so amazing.

VPOTUS did a press avail outside a HyVee supermarket in Council Bluffs, IA
shortly before his rally today. Here are his remarks:

Q (paraphrased): Did President Obama not bring his A game to the debate
last night?


I think the president did well. He was presideintal. You just don’t ever
know what game, what positions Gov. Romney’s going to come with.

Last night we found out he doesn’t have a 5 trilliion tax cut. I guess he
outsourced that to China or something, I don’t know, that’s offshored. But
it’s hard to figure out what Gov. Romney’s position is on a number of
issues.

But I think as time goes on, meaning days, it’s going to become pretty
clear that Gov. Romney has either changed a number of his positions or
didn’t remember some of his positions. I think at the end of the day we
have two more debates coming up, or the president does and I feel very good
about it.

Q (paraphrased) How do you think your own debate will go?

All debates are tough. You get up there and everybody, you’re able to sit,
like I was watching the debate last night, and you can sit there and say I
would have done that, I would have done this. I heard people saying
that. Well,
nothing like standing up before 30, 40, 50, 60, 70 million people. You
know. So all debates are tough. But I’m loooking forward to it I really
am. The thing about Congressman Ryan is he’s been straightforward up to
now, but all the significant changes he wants to make. We have a
fundamentally different view on a whole range of issues, so I hope it will
be a fun debate.

Q (paraphrased): How have your preparations been going?

They’ve been going well. What I’ve been doing mostly, quite frankly, is
studying up on Congressman Ryan’s positions on the issues. And Gov. Romney
has embraced, at least everything I can see. I don’t want to say anything
in the debate that’s not completely accurate. For example, I’ve been saying
to you all that Gov. Romney has embraced the Ryan budget. Well he has.
He’s gone back and said no he agrees with that. I just want to make sure
that when I say these things I don’t have the Congressman 'No no no, I
don’t have that position' or 'That’s not the Governor’s position.' So it’s
mainly getting the factual predicates for everything that —not everything,
but the key issues on which Gov. Romney has spoken and Congressman Ryan has.
