Our 2014 Annual Seattle Event took place on Saturday, March 29th at Seattle University.
Over 250 JVs, FJVs, staff, board members, Jesuits, friends, and family came out
to celebrate the service of the Jesuit Volunteers. The evening included a beautiful
mass, art from current JVs, delicious food and drink, speeches from keynote speaker
Rob McCann, PhD and JV speaker Ryan Mildenberger, the presentation of the second
annual Fr. Jack Morris, SJ Memorial Award, raffle prizes, and a beautiful closing
song from current JVs Patrick Vale and Nathan Lin. A special thank you to our presider
Fr. Joseph Carver, SJ, our emcee Marilyn Nash, keynote speaker Dr. Rob McCann, JV
speaker Ryan Mildenberger, Fr Jack Morris, SJ Memorial Award winner Larry Gooley,
SJ, and our six talented JV artists from Hood River, Gresham, Gray's Harbor, and

This month AmeriCorps is celebrating Environmental Stewardship!

At the Sitka Conservation Society, Mary Wood (Sitka, AK '13-14) is showing youth
that "it always comes back to how we can be stewards of our natural environment
and live with the land and learn from the land." Read more about how she is living

From Mission to Mission Re-Entry Workshop

From Mission to Mission offers support to returning missioners and volunteers as
they deal with transitioning out of a year or more of service. The Re-Entry workshop
is a retreat open to anyone returning from service.The focus of the weekend is:

Call to Action: Young Adult Faith-Sharing Retreat

Catholics on Call: 2014 Young Adult Summer Conference
August 5 - 9, Catholic Theological Union, Hyde Park neighborhood, Chicago
Catholics on Call invites young people, ages 18-30, who are considering a life of
service in the Church to join them for their 2014 young adult summer conference.
Participants will have the opportunity to connect and pray with other like-minded
young adults, to hear nationally-known speakers, discuss how to listen to God's
call, and to learn valuable skills that will help them to discern their vocation,
whether it be to priesthood, religious life or lay ecclesial ministry. Registration

Catholic Volunteer Network - Discernment Retreats
If you've recently done a year of service, how will you continue to live out the
values that were so much a part of your service year? How will those values shape
what's next for you? Catholic Volunteer Network, in partnership with Notre Dame
Mission Volunteers, is offering weekend retreats that provides space to discern
how you can foster these values and live out your passion, and the possibility of
religious life as a way to do so. Each weekend will provide a balance of reflection
on your volunteer service, input on the skills of discernment, quiet time for reflection,
and sharing with the other participants on the retreat.
