Attached is the inaugural issue of "The Compass," which will provide a quarterly format in which to share ideas and best practices and to recognize the good work of our Shipmates. Thanks to CAPT Gary Kirchner for volunteering NPASE East to spearhead the effort.
I encourage you to read this newsletter in the spirit in which it is intended--as one way to bring us together as a professional community. I would also urge you to submit content for future issues. Is there a project or exercise that you've either completed or are planning that you would like to share with your colleagues? Do you have some valuable lessons learned that will prove beneficial to your Shipmates? Has one of your Sailors been recognized for outstanding achievement?
