The Honoree Reception
Starting at 6:00pm
This year, the 2012 Fairness Award will host our Honoree Reception at
the Historic Howard Theatre. In celebration of this unique event in
Washington D.C., the reception will bring special guests, the
diplomatic community, non-profit leaders, and friends to recognize
this year's honorees. Ambassador Melanne Verveer and Ms. Luck Kanu
exemplify the impact and opportunity created when grassroots and
grasstops leaders work together. Join us for an evening filled with
music, food, drinks, and an opportunity to Celebrate Fairness!

The Award Ceremony
Starting at 7:00pm

Gathered around tables, guests will take part in a memorable and
exciting evening. The night will include our Masters of Ceremony, Mr.
Jim Vance of CNBC4. The Fairness Award will recognize and honor
Ambassador Melanne Verveer and Ms. Lucy Kanu during an intimate award
ceremony. After, enjoy the hors d'oeuvres and drinks prepared by
renowned chef Marcus Samuelsson while listening to a special musical
performance by SWEET HONEY IN THE ROCK.

About the Fairness Award
Inaugurated in 2010 by U.S. Secretary of State Hillary Clinton, the
Fairness Award honors both a grassroots and grasstops leader and the
linked commitment between them on issues of social importance and
human progress. As Secretary Clinton said in presenting the 2010
Fairness Award, "we have a bolder view of what is possible" because
of inspired leaders like you, and your inspired career and vision is
the extraordinary realization of what's possible.
