While tonight's winner among two surprising mid-seed teams is very much in doubt, no doubt remains in our competition.

From the ashes of Delaware's first round defeat and Syracuse's shocking second round exit, the VP has emerged victorious. From near-last to first, the VP is laughing<http://timenewsfeed.files.wordpress.com/2012/11/bidensun.jpg?w=360&h=240&crop=1> all the way to the (points) bank with scrappy underdog #8 seed Kentucky going to the championship game. Combined with other early upsets including Stanford's run to the sweet 16 and Stephen F Austin's toppling of VCU, his 22 points for Kentucky's final four upset of Wisconsin pushed him ahead of Greg Schultz. He was the only person out of 35 to score points in the final four round. Credit here goes to the scheduling team for implementing the long term basketball education plan that got him here. That's right, he's been studying up<http://media.masslive.com/sports_impact/photo/brawljpg-c31887c9112274e5.jpg> a few times<http://www.usatodaysportsimages.com/image/thumb/250-225/7188576.jpg> in recent<http://assets.nydailynews.com/polopoly_fs/1.1702037!/img/httpImage/image.jpg_gen/derivatives/article_1200/hkg5242196.jpg> years leading up to this victory<http://www.whitehouse.gov/sites/default/files/vp_audio/biden_basketball_photo.jpg>.

Perhaps no one was more crushed by this weekend's results than Stef Feldman. Stef had an outside chance of claiming the crown, but with both final four games going precisely the wrong way for her, she fell down to Russonian levels in 10th place. Maybe she should have worried a little bit more<http://www.dukechronicle.com/articles/2008/02/08/robertson-scholars-adjust-inter-campus-life> about the Duke-UNC basketball rivalry...

Until next year!

PS - Fran, I beat you again.
