Hi,

So I was wondering if you could help me brainstorm / give me a little career advice.

I have pretty much scrapped my VC/investing related career ideas, bc I'm just not that into the finance centric roles, and so I'm sort of starting back at square one. Only thing I think I know is that I'd like to be in the San Francisco area for the next couple years, at least.

Eric and I spoke this summer about connecting me with someone in the Gavin Newsom sphere, so I could gather a bit more info about California state politics and the mayor's office... Just thinking maybe there are cool roles / initiatives at the city level and / or in the LT gov's office. What do you think? And does Nancy Pelosi's office do anything cool, or does all the interesting stuff happen in DC?

Another idea I have is to try and do public affairs or gov relations work out here for a large multi national (Google, The Gap, AT&T, North Face are out here)... but I don't know if that's viable - or if those roles are essentially DC-based lobbying jobs. I'm sort of struggling here. Would love any ideas or insights you have.
