Dear 9th Grade Parents,

It's hard to believe there's only one month left! It's been a pleasure
serving as Parent Representatives this year -- what a terrific group of
parents we have in our grade. Thank you for always so quickly answering
our calls for volunteers, donations, and your company at coffees, potlucks,
meetings, and The Great Pie-Bake! As a sappy, sentimental mother of a
senior who soon will be leaving for college, I know how important it is to
share these high school years with parents we trust, respect, and enjoy. We
look forward to sharing the next few, very special years with you all.

On to business:

*Coffee on Thursday, May 29 at Le Pain Quotidian. *Come join us
to celebrate the first day of final exams! We'll just meet after drop-off
at the Le Pain on Mass Ave., NW (near Crate & Barrel). We'd love to make
this a new tradition -- getting together for coffee perhaps the last Friday
of each month.


*Sidwell Tennis Event: May 17 (rsvp by May 9)*

The Sidwell Friends Tennis Event is back, and we hope 9th grade families
will join this day of tennis and fun!

The Tennis Event will take place on *Saturday, May 17 from 3:30 to 7:00
p.m.* at the *William H.G. Fitzgerald Tennis Center* (home of the
CitiOpen). Community members of all ages and skill sets are encouraged to
attend. Even if you’re not a tennis player, come enjoy the food, drinks and
fun! This year’s event will build upon the excitement surrounding the
growth of our new tennis program led by Octavio Delasobera.

*Adult tickets cost $50 and student tickets cost $30**. *Sponsorship
opportunities are also available and all proceeds benefit student financial

*All-School Parents Association Meeting: May 12*


The last SFS All-School Parents Association meeting will be held Monday,
May 12 from 7 to 9 PM in the RLS Meeting Room on the US campus. The purpose
of the meeting is to better understand what parents would like the PA to
focus on next year. It will be an open forum for parental input and a
moderator will facilitate the discussion. Every Sidwell Friends parent is a
member of the PA and your contributions are extremely important to us.
