Hi Professor Norton,

It was nice to see you a few weeks ago at Profs on Parade. I hope you're
well. Your class this year was so popular that some people who put it as
their first priority in the registration process did not get it. That is
quite impressive.

I am writing to ask you for your advice and guidance. As you probably can
imagine, it is time for 2nd year's in the MSFS Program to begin looking for
full-time employment. Currently, I've interviewed with the National Nuclear
Security Adminstration and have applied to many jobs at State and other
federal agencies.

However, throughout my time at Georgetown, due to your class and several
others, my interests have shifted somewhat. I now am strongly interested in
obtaining a committee staff job on the Hill (ideally Appropriations,
Foreign Relations, or Homeland Security). I feel this would suit my
strengths and interests well.

If you have any advice about how you would go about trying to secure a
staff position, or perhaps could put me into contact with someone for an
informational interview, I would be very appreciative.

If you're amenable, it would also great to chat with you to catch up during
or prior to one of your office hours during the spring. Any advice or
guidance would be tremendously helpful.
