Thanks so much for your response. I believe it is a wonderful idea to touch base with Ms. Dennin (we have also made her aware) because I do believe she is missing some chunks of time when she comes to pay us a visit. We try to keep it brief but still give her a good assessment in the case that it is a true injury; it’s a tough balancing act.

Thanks for you email. We are definitely aware of Maisy's aches and pains. While she definitely plays hard and does get hurt more than most, we too realize that most of her aches and pains are benign. I've talked to her about it. I think she's been a little anxious about school this year and that is where her "not feeling well" comes from. We'll continue to keep a close eye on her and try to help her feel better about school. I don't like that she takes time away from class to visit your office every day. I didn't realize it was daily.

I'll touch base with Sandy this week and get her thoughts.

Thanks again for your support. I'm sure it's because you are so kind to Maisy that she feels comfortable visiting.

I just wanted to give you a heads up that Maisy complained about bruising on her right forearm yesterday, although she has no recollection of how it occurred. I then saw her again this afternoon about numbness and tingling, although her hand was warm to the touch and had great circulation. Then those symptoms disappeared when I saw her 10 minutes later in Health class. This is just something to monitor this weekend.

In addition to today’s visits, Shannon and I also wanted to alert you to a concern that we both have realized that we share in regard to Maisy’s office visits. Her office visits to the two of us are on a daily basis, every day in PE to see Shannon and at least once or twice in the morning and/or afternoon in my office. Typically on Mondays she will complain of a new injury that occurred over the weekend; then the injuries change as the week goes on. The last couple of injuries she complained about have been rib pain, ankle pain, and pain in the side of her hand. We have never seen any signs of an injury that would warrant a phone call or visit to the doctor, and we never see bruising (until yesterday) or swelling. We are not sure why each visit is of a different nature and the injury or pain is always brief. I used to leave you messages in the beginning of the school year but then stopped doing so once I realized that the injuries were benign.

We don’t really have an answer or reason for the visits but just thought we should put it on your radar. Please let us know if you have any questions or concerns.
