Ray Rice - (Mon, Dec 10, 2012)
Rice has a slight hip pointer, according to coach John Harbaugh, the Baltimore Sun reports. The report adds that Rice, who rushed 20 times for 121 yards and a touchdown, didn't appear to be in major discomfort after Sunday's game, so it doesn't look like the running back's Week 15 status is in any danger, though perhaps he will be limited somewhat at practice in the coming days.


Ray Rice - (Sun, Dec 9, 2012)
Rice suffered a hip pointer in Sunday's loss to the Redskins, Jeff Zrebiec of the Baltimore Sun reports. Rice, who carried the ball 20 times for 121 yards with a TD and added three catches for 15 yards in the game, was out there when the contest was in overtime, so hopefully this is a minor deal that won't limit him much once the Ravens return to practice leading up to Week 15's contest against the Broncos.

Cam Newton - (Sun, Dec 9, 2012)
Newton connected on 23-of-35 throws for 287 passing yards and two touchdowns in Sunday's win against the Falcons. He also ran nine times for 116 yards and a touchdown. Newton was the difference against Atlanta and made a huge fantasy impact as well. His 23 completions Sunday tied his season-high and now Newton has thrown for eight touchdowns and zero interceptions over his past four contests. Additionally, Newton has ran for three scores over that same span, including a 72-yarder Sunday, which marked the longest run of Newton's young NFL career. The second-year quarterback has been playing much better of late and will look to continue his strong play next week in San Diego.


Larry Fitzgerald - (Sun, Dec 9, 2012)
Fitzgerald had one catch for two yards during the Cards' 58-0 loss to the Seahawks on Sunday. Fitzgerald has seen his value tanked by the Cards' ineffective quarterback play, and he should be considered fantasy toxic at this point. Fitzgerald was actually targeted 11 times Sunday, but only the one, two-yard pass, was even remotely catchable.

Fitzgerald expects to see a lot of Seattle's Richard Sherman on Sunday, the Cardinals' official twitter reports. You almost have to feel bad for Fitzgerald (and perhaps his fantasy owners) at this point. He's such a good player that a big game can never be ruled out, but he just can't seem to get a break, and that will be the case again this week as he matches up with an elite corner in arguably the league's toughest stadium for opposing offenses. The good news is that John Skeleton, and not Ryan Lindley, will be quarterbacking the Cardinals, although it says quite a bit about your season when that is the good news.


Trent Richardson - (Sun, Dec 9, 2012)
Richardson (ribs) produced yet another solid fantasy output Sunday against the Chiefs. He finished with 42 yards on 18 carries and two touchdowns. The yards-per-carry weren't great, and he lost some carries to Montario Hardesty as the Browns were nursing a healthy lead, but owners have to be pleased with Richardson's production. Sunday broke his five-game streak with 20 or more carries, but he continues to climb the fantasy running back ranks due to his consistently heavy workload and his nose for the endzone. Richardson has scored four times in his last three games and is a must-start, despite a tough matchup against the Redskins in Week 15.

Richardson (chest) is active for Sunday's game against the Chiefs. Richardson has been banged up for a while now, but he continues to get 20+ carries every game and is ready to roll again this week.

Gore rushed the ball 12 times for 63 yards with a touchdown and caught two passes for 22 yards against the Dolphins on Sunday. Though not a spectacular day by fantasy standards, Gore put in a solid effort against a tough run defense and found the endzone for a second consecutive week. But it was also a bit of a milestone game for Gore as he recorded his sixth career 1,000 yard season while also tying Joe Perry and Roger Craig for the franchise record with his 50th career rushing touchdown. He'll look to add to his totals next week when he faces the Patriots whose run defense was, coming into Week 14, ranked eighth in the league and allowing just 100.8 rushing yards per game.


Frank Gore - (Sun, Dec 9, 2012)
Gore (wrist) is active for Sunday's contest against Miami. Despite averaging 2.5 yards per carry in Week 13, Gore has averaged less than 4.0 yards per rush just three times in 12 outings this season. However, the Dolphins have yielded 90 yards or more rushing in five of the past six games, which improves Gore's fantasy stock this weekend.

Gore (wrist) is probable for Sunday's game against Miami, Sacramento Bee writer Matt Barrows reports. Gore found the end zone despite averaging just 2.5 yards per carry against St. Louis last week, raising his season total up to seven scores (six rushing). Look for Gore to breeze past the 1,000-yard mark against the Dolphins, as he heads into Sunday with 972 yards on the ground.


Frank Gore - (Fri, Dec 7, 2012)
Gore needs just 28 yards on Sunday to record the sixth 1,000-yard season of his career. Gore has put together another solid season this year and his 4.9 yards per carry ranks third in the NFL amongst running backs with a minimum of 100 rushing attempts. It should be noted, though, that he has been held to under 90 yards in each of his last three games and has only two touchdowns over his last seven. It won't get any easier this week when he faces the Dolphins whose run defense ranks seventh in the NFL in yardage allowed and have given up an average of just 97.7 yards per game with only five rushing touchdowns.


Jeremy Maclin - (Mon, Dec 10, 2012)
Maclin (groin) would have been limited if the Eagles had held practice Monday, CSN Philadelphia reports. Maclin appeared to develop a connection with quarterback Nick Foles during Sunday's win in Tampa Bay, as he caught nine balls (on 13 targets) for 104 yards and the game-winning touchdown as time expired. With the Eagles playing Thursday against Cincinnati, we'll be sure to watch his participation level as the week carries on.


Jeremy Maclin - (Sun, Dec 9, 2012)
Maclin had nine catches on 13 targets for 104 yards and a touchdown Sunday against the Buccaneers. Maclin led the Eagles in targets and caught a touchdown as time expired to clinch a victory for the Birds. Maclin had been a bit slow to develop a good chemistry with new starting quarterback Nick Foles, but that all seemed to change Sunday. Starting tight end Brent Celek was knocked out of the game with a concussion, which means Maclin could see his high number of targets continue next week against the Bengals.


Vernon Davis - (Sun, Dec 9, 2012)
Davis had one catch for four yards against the Dolphins on Sunday. If you were still torn about whether or not to use Davis heading into this week, the results from this game should help put that internal debate to bed. Davis is obviously a lost man in this offense and can no longer be counted on as a viable fantasy threat anymore. Until more is done to incorporate Davis into the passing attack, owners should continue to lean on other alternatives.


Tony Gonzalez - (Sun, Dec 9, 2012)
Gonzalez caught eight balls for 61 yards in Sunday's loss to the Panthers. Gonzalez caught eight of the nine balls thrown his way and has at least 50 receiving yards in three straight games. He'll look to add to that streak Week 15 against the Giants.

Romo completed 25-of-43 passes for 268 yards with one TD and one INT in Sunday's come-from-behind win over the Bengals. It certainly wasn't his best statistical game of the season, but Romo came up big in crunch time to lead the Cowboys to a game-winning field goal in the final seconds. Next week's game, at home to the Steelers, promises to be another tough matchup as Dallas tries to stay in the playoff picture.

Coach Lovie Smith said that Bush re-injured his ribs Sunday against the Vikings, Adam Jahns of the Chicago Sun-Times reports. "He took a shot," Smith noted Monday. That helps explain why Bush had just one carry for six yards Sunday, though his fantasy upside remains limited in any case, as long as Matt Forte remains healthy.

Bush (ribs) is active for Sunday's contest in Minnesota. With Matt Forte healthy in Week 13, Bush was held to a more typical seven carries for 39 yards. Expect much of the same versus a Vikings run defense that has allowed five of their past six opponents to break the 100-yard barrier.

Bush (ribs) is questionable for Sunday's game against Minnesota, ChicagoBears.com reports. Bush was a limited practice participant Friday, but it was his only appearance in practice all week. He's looking like a legitimate game-time call.


David Akers - (Sun, Dec 9, 2012)
Akers was 2-for-2 in field goal attempts and converted all three of his extra points during the 49ers' win over the Dolphins on Sunday. Akers had been dealing with a pelvis injury, which limited him in practice early in the week. But all looked fine as he was successful from 30 and 37 yards out this week and he should continue to be a solid choice at kicker for your fantasy playoffs.

Akers (pelvis) is active for Sunday's game against Miami. Akers is facing a Dolphins squad that has forced an average of 3.2 field goal attempts of opposing kickers over the past five contests, making him a strong play despite his recent struggles.

After being limited on Wednesday, Akers (pelvis) was a full-participant at practice on Thursday, the San Francisco Chronicle reports. Akers has been bothered by the injury for a few weeks now but seems to be getting a little better this week. He also received some reassurance from GM Trent Baalke earlier in the week when he was told that the team was sticking with him and would not bring in any kickers to audition this week. He is expected to play on Sunday and remains a viable starter for the fantasy playoffs.


Daniel Thomas - (Sun, Dec 9, 2012)
Thomas only had two rushes Sunday for three yards in a 27-13 loss to San Francisco. Thomas looked like he had taken over the starting role a few games ago but Reggie Bush is now firmly in the driver's seat once again leaving Daniel as no more than a complementary back. Still, Thomas is the favorite to be the starting RB next season in Miami as Bush is a free agent and not expected to return to south Florida.


Mike Williams - (Sun, Dec 9, 2012)
Williams had three catches (on seven targets) for 18 yards and a touchdown in the Bucs' 23-21 victory over the Eagles. Thank goodness for fantasy owners Williams had that touchdown Sunday, otherwise he would not have done much. He is getting consistent targets and has had touchdowns in two straight weeks, so Williams is a must-own in most formats.


Brian Hartline - (Sun, Dec 9, 2012)
Hartline had two receptions for 34 yards Sunday against San Francisco. Not the best of games for Hartline who only hauled two of his eight targets. Hartline would be a decent number two receiver for a team, but is miscast as the number one WR in Miami.


Sebastian Janikowski - (Fri, Dec 7, 2012)
Janikowski scored only one point in Thursday's loss to the Broncos. Janikowski attempted and converted an extra point in the second quarter, but did not get any other chances during the game. Those that own Janikowski will need to hope the rest of their squad can pick up the slack in this pivotal fantasy week.
