Now that the weather is starting to cooperate, we have seen EXCELLENT lacrosse and amazing improvement at each level of play in our program! Let's finish out the spring strong before we get into the summer months!! I also wanted to take a second to recognize our teachers out there! Every week should be "Teacher Appreciation Week!" This is the most important job in the country and we at Breakout want to take a second to say THANK YOU! You are helping to mold our boys and girls into men and women and we can't thank you enough. We would like to especially thank all the teachers we have as coaches in our program. We have had a BUSY spring and the weather not stopped us from bringing the Washington DC Metropolitan community all the lacrosse action it has been waiting for...! It was great to see all the players getting their first chance to face-off against other programs. There was a lot of fantastic lacrosse played over the weekend and Breakout Lacrosse was glad to host all the action! U15 and U13 programs kicked off the weekend with some really tight match-ups and some beautiful weather. All the teams were getting their fill of big goals, huge saves and fast transitions! It was a really amazing show of skills! U11 and U9 programs closed out the weekend with fun and exciting games that left everybody with a smile! The younger guys really showed off their skills and eagerness for the spring season to come by making great plays on offense and defense and wanting more after! It was a pleasure hosting all the teams this pre-season at the March Meltdown Shootout! Breakout Lacrosse thanks everyone for attending and we wish them the BEST going into their spring and summer seasons!!! 6th Annual Breakout Lacrosse DC Classic When Breakout Lacrosse invited teams for the 6th Annual Breakout Lacrosse DC Classic, we knew we were going to be in for a show...but what an amazing day it turned out to be! Thanks to Woodrow Wilson High School, AD Mitch Gore and Head Lacrosse Coach George Arlotto, we had a FANTASTIC venue for the tournament and it was perfect lacrosse weather! The Breakout Lacrosse Academy is proud to be hosting over 200 boys and girls in the Little Lady, Mini-Man and Bronco Leagues! Our boys and girls have been excited to participate in the fast-paced, multiple repetition skill building sessions during the week and have the opportunity to play small-sided games on the Sunday afternoons! Each week the Breakout Lacrosse Academy players build upon the lessons of the week prior and the kids learn a ton while having a great experience playing lacrosse! Our girls teams are off to a great start this Spring! With so much interest in the Breakout Lacrosse Girls Team Programs we unfortunately had to turn away some families because our rosters were full so please be sure to sign up EARLY in the fall! Led by a fantastic coaching staff of former NCAA Women's Lacrosse athletes and coaches, our girls players are learning how to play from the best! The teams are busy practicing and participating in league competition and we at Breakout Lacrosse could not be more excited for their progress throughout the season so far. Thank you to all our girl and their families for getting involved. We are proud to provide the Washington DC Metropolitan community with excellent girls teams! The boys teams are going strong as well! With 8 teams and 160+ boys participating in 3 different area leagues, it is fair to say Breakout Lacrosse is on the map! Although it was a rainy/snowy March and April, the boys have not been discouraged and have been practicing in force to prepare for their games. The coaching staff for all the teams have been buzzing with enthusiasm throughout the season! It has been great seeing all players shake off the cobwebs from the winter, get into a groove as the spring got going and improve each time they step on the field! The excitement from our teams and families for the spring has been awesome! The Breakout Lacrosse Girls' and Boys' Teams are busy playing hard in games and practices, while the Breakout Lacrosse Academy players in the Little Lady, Mini-Man and Bronco Leagues are learning the game and having a blast along the way! We are looking forward to finishing the season strong in the coming weeks! During practice I like to coach fundamentals, fundamentals, fundamentals!! Fundamentals are the key to the game of lacrosse! Making time to practice on your own time is also something I share with my girls and cannot encourage enough.
