Friend, This month marks the 52nd anniversary of the Voting Rights Act, which made it easier for all Americans to exercise their fundamental right to vote.

Unfortunately, that right is under attack from the GOP, including Iowa’s Secretary of State Paul Pate. During his tenure he:


shortened early voting by 12 days

didn’t count 6,000 Iowa votes from the 2016 election


Iowa deserves a secretary of state who will make it easier to vote, not harder. If you agree, add your name now. >>


But it gets worse. Pate said he’s willing to work with Trump’s Commission on Election Integrity, which would give away people’s personal information. That’s not okay and we need a Secretary of State that will protect voters’ personal information

The secretary of state is the first line of defense against voter suppression. We’ve got to uphold this fundamental aspect of our democracy—that everyone has the right to vote.
