Greetings. What a spectacular day- I hope everyone is enjoying it!

I wanted to bring to your attention four upcoming Beau Biden Foundation events in the next four months, and invite your participation and support.

August 20th is the Beau Biden Foundation Child Protection Day at the Wilmington Blue Rocks, minor league baseball game. During the game we will be creating Child ID kits and I will be in the broadcast booth talking about keeping children safe. After the game we will conduct a baseball clinic for 150 children with the Cal Ripken, Sr. Foundation. We were provided 100 tickets, which we have donated to the PAL centers. The children will receive t-shirts and we will provide pizza to the participants and their families through a generous donation of Grotto Pizza and our friend Dominic Pulieri. We have a number of law enforcement officers who will participate in the baseball instruction, and conduct a K-9 exhibition. Not to worry, we have carved out some time between baseball/softball skills instruction to have our intern Eric Patton talk with the children about staying safe online, including cyberbullying. September 25th is the golf and tennis tournament and cocktail reception. Simply put, the tournament and party is an amazing event. If you can attend, or if you know folks that might want to attend, or sponsor the event, participate in the event, or donate to the silent auction, please let us know. The silent auction will be online again this year which allows you to bid on a wonderful array of goods and services, and some really awesome trips and tickets, even if you can’t be here. This is our primary fundraiser for the year and the success of the event allows us to carry out our mission to keep children safe. Please feel free to contact me with any questions. October 20th is our first annual Law Enforcement conference, Child Protection and Technology- 21st Century Solutions to 21st Century Problems, which we are hosting here at Delaware Law School (free venue!). We are inviting law enforcement officers throughout the nation, although we anticipate we will probably have a mostly regional audience. Again, we would love to have you attend. Please make sure you let your friends in law enforcement know about this event. We have started to reach out to potential sponsors— if you have any thoughts or ideas for sponsorships, please feel free to let us know. Our flyers will be distributed at the National FOP conference the last week in August, and we will email the invitation to all regional law enforcement. (NY, NJ, PA, MD, DC, VA, FBI, US Marshalls). November 19th is the Run for Child Protection, 5K and Family Fun Run/Walk. The organizer expects a crowd of at least 1500 runners. I wanted to let you know that we have received so much positive feedback on the beautiful logo that we have begun the process to trademark it.

Finally, please make sure that you have Thursday October 25th at Noon on your calendar for the next board meeting. At this point, we anticipate the meeting will be at the BBF office in Wilmington.
