The other big news in the steel industry is Nucor is expanding two of their operations. They are spending several billion dollars. Unfortunately the orders went to SMS, a German company and will largely be built in Europe and “China”! And, they won’t be using American steel. Pretty amazing? We are placing tariffs on to help American steel. And many of the steel producers are turning around and buying foreign equipment with foreign steel. Dan D’amico is the past President of Nucor and advising Trump. It is amazing no one is talking or reporting on this stuff... They do so with integrated mills with blast furnaces. They refuse to buy scrubbers which clean the air. An argument could be made a ban on products produced in this manner would have a tremendous effect on pollution, coke making and coal. The mini mills like Nucor and Steel Dynamics would love this idea. The rust belt mills which are restarting their blast furnaces already have scrubbers and strict environmental controls. I would think the above would be a compelling argument to Ohio, Pennsylvania, Michigan, Indiana, Arkansas, Alabama etc. just a thought for you guys. >> >> Sent from my iPhone >=2
