Dear 8th grade families,

We wanted to make sure you had seen the announcement in the Tuesday letter
about Friday’s varsity football game (copied below). Our 8th graders will
be allowed to stay on campus to attend the game without an adult, so they
can have a fun afternoon with only a change in pick-up time. Of course, if
you can come too, so much the better!


The party starts at 3.45 pm in Zartman Garden, with the game at 4.30 pm. In
addition to cookies, popcorn, cider, and water compliments of SFS, there
will be a concessions stand selling burgers/hot dogs and snacks, so you may
want to make sure your kids have some money.

GAME TIME!

The Parents Association, in conjunction with the Athletics Department, is
supporting different varsity team games this year by having a pregame party
and sponsoring a social media photo challenge.

Show your school spirit by coming to the first featured game dressed in
your SFS gear.

This week’s Game Time will begin with a pregame party starting at 3:45
p.m. in the Class of 1960 Garden behind Zartman House. Beverages and snacks
will be available for all to enjoy. Middle School students are encouraged
to attend. Students in 5th-7th grade should be under the care of an adult
while attending the party or game on campus that afternoon; 8th graders may
attend the pre-game party and game without a parent on campus. Students
found hanging out elsewhere will be sent to aftercare. While we want our
students to join in these activities, we remind you that this is an open
campus and your children are not supervised after school which is why we
ask that a parent take responsibility for students who do want to go to the
pre-game party and game. Of course we encourage all parents to join in the
festivities as well – and you and your children can share photos with our
community by following the instructions below.

During the game, take photos of you and your friends, and then tag Sidwell
Friends on Facebook and Twitter (@sidwellfriends) using #goquakers.

One lucky photo will be featured each week, and the photographer will
receive swag from The Fox Den to sport at the next gam
