The Chinese produce close to 1 billion tons of steel as much as the rest of the world combined. They do so with integrated mills with blast furnaces. They refuse to buy scrubbers which clean the air. An argument could be made a ban on products produced in this manner would have a tremendous effect on pollution, coke making and coal. The mini mills like Nucor and Steel Dynamics would love this idea. The rust belt mills which are restarting their blast furnaces already have scrubbers and strict environmental controls. I would think the above would be a compelling argument to Ohio, Pennsylvania, Michigan, Indiana, Arkansas, Alabama etc. just a thought for you guys. Sent from my iPhone
