A while ago, the press called Senator Al Franken's race for re-election a 2014 "sleeper race" -- one that could be competitive, but not many people were paying attention to.

Believe me, Al hasn't escaped the notice of the special interests. Two super PACs have formed to attack him. Four polls in a row show Al's race getting tighter.

This "sleeper race" isn't so sleepy anymore -- special interests are going after Al. He'll need our help to stop them.

Al's grassroots team is coming up against their final FEC quarter deadline of this election. They need to reach $300,000 -- and we need to help them. Help me help Al by giving $5 or $10 to support him.

Al has been a leader in protecting consumer privacy and choice since he stepped foot in the Senate. He's leading the charge to reverse the effects of Citizens United.

Let's put it this way -- Al's given special interest groups, backed by the likes of Karl Rove or the Kochs, plenty of reason to hate him. Not that Al cares what the special interests think of him.

But with Election Day closing in, and polling tightening up, it's more important than ever that Al's grassroots network is ready to fight down the stretch here. Without that grassroots effort, Al could be in trouble.
