By Kyle Cheney With James Hohmann and Burgess Everett The following newsletter is an abridged version of Campaign Pro's Morning Score. ( http://go.politicoemail.com/?qs=ea3125191eebbdff2a29dff7d9491d6a68ed525199926a8ac78933a21b8325bd http://go.politicoemail.com/?qs=ea3125191eebbdffc16dd85023829a2215e631facb2d7acabd95dd445c8a6683 ) BREAKING OVERNIGHT - "Sources: Wolf weighs Greg Orman endorsement," by POLITICO's Manu Raju and Alex Isenstadt, with Kyle Cheney: Milton Wolf, the tea party candidate who battled Sen. Pat Roberts in a bitter Republican primary fight, is considering some political payback: endorsing independent Greg Orman over Roberts, sources said Thursday night. But there's a big catch: To win Wolf's endorsement, Orman must first agree to caucus with the Senate GOP if he were to defeat Roberts in the general election. The two men were scheduled to meet this afternoon at Orman's house in Olathe, Kansas, just outside of Kansas City, according to two people familiar with the matter. One person said Orman's team sought the meeting, but it seemed doubtful he would agree to Wolf's terms. http://go.politicoemail.com/?qs=ea3125191eebbdff82135e6c27b9011ce51f960ac7a75c7ee2a34a7edad0de69 http://go.politicoemail.com/?qs=ea3125191eebbdff82135e6c27b9011ce51f960ac7a75c7ee2a34a7edad0de69 Score's read: Taking Wolf's endorsement would shore up doubters who think Orman's just a pawn of Washington Democrats, but it would undermine the central premise of his candidacy: that he's beholden to neither party and can shift allegiances at will - to whichever party is most likely to deliver on the issues he cares about. Orman could be a kingmaker in Washington, but only if he can use his non-alignment for leverage. FIRST IN SCORE - Nunn rebuts Perdue terrorism claim: Michelle Nunn, the Democratic nominee for a Senate seat in Georgia, is counterpunching her Republican opponent, David Perdue, for running an ad suggesting the Points of Light Foundation, where Nunn worked for years, may have helped fund terrorists. The claim has been widely dismissed as inaccurate, and in her new ad - produced by Shorr Johnson Magnus - Nunn highlights some of those analyses, speaking straight to the camera. "That's a terrible lie and an insult to the millions of volunteers I worked with to make a difference," she says. "David Perdue's ad has been called the worst in America, and President Bush's son [Neil Bush] has called it shameful." http://go.politicoemail.com/?qs=ea3125191eebbdffaa98d556a93672ce3d3d704189a54e96ab42dcbf76dfebb7 http://go.politicoemail.com/?qs=ea3125191eebbdffaa98d556a93672ce3d3d704189a54e96ab42dcbf76dfebb7 EXCLUSIVE - SNYDER DEFENDS EDUCATION RECORD: Hammered by Democratic ads which accuse him of cutting spending, Michigan Republican Gov. Rick Snyder will go on TV with a response ad today. It stars Linda Thaler, who spent here decades teaching in Michigan public schools. She says straight to camera: "School funding is always tough, but at least we're not cutting state education funding - like [Jennifer] Granholm and [Mark] Schauer did. Governor Snyder has increased K-12 state funding every year he's been in office, in spite of what you've heard. Increased spending! And he even shored up teacher's pensions. I taught for 31 years. I trust the direction Governor Snyder is taking in education." The ad, produced by Fred Davis, quotes a Detroit Free Press article from February 2014 which says, "Snyder can truthfully say he had increased state funding for K-12 education each year since he took office." While he's not a focus of the ad, this is the first time a Snyder ad has gone directly after his opponent. Polls show a margin of error race. Watch the ad here, which will air statewide in all major media markets: http://go.politicoemail.com/?qs=ea3125191eebbdfffb93e2c3dffe460b0b997859ed75300629c165af6e261832 http://go.politicoemail.com/?qs=ea3125191eebbdfffb93e2c3dffe460b0b997859ed75300629c165af6e261832 SNEAK PEEK - The Kentucky Opportunity Coalition is going up today with a new wave of digital ads supporting Sen. Mitch McConnell's legislation to promote the coal industry and slamming the Obama administration's position on Kentucky's "coal-based economy." The 12-week campaign is expected to run up a $750,000 tab, and this latest wave of ads, which will run from today through Dec. 11, accounts for about $500,000 of the total. A Democratic source passes along an internal from the campaign of state Sen. George B. Sinner, who's taking on incumbent Rep. Kevin Cramer, that shows Sinner not only within the 5 percent margin of error but with a slight 40-38 edge among registered voters. The Mellman Group poll also shows Sinner and Cramer with roughly equivalent favorability ratings. That name sound familiar? Sinner is the son of former Democratic Gov. George A. Sinner. http://go.politicoemail.com/?qs=ea3125191eebbdfff45dd6732639353a1de583009f2a43475227d77612d5ea07 http://go.politicoemail.com/?qs=ea3125191eebbdfff45dd6732639353a1de583009f2a43475227d77612d5ea07 As Alaska gets a little chillier toward Mark Begich and ballot box intrigue roils Kansas, here's POLITICO's Morning Score: your daily guide to the 2014 midterms. One of the families that later benefited is her own. JDC Manufacturing, a company co-owned by the Democratic senator's husband, Chip, received nearly $390,000 in federal grants for energy projects and tax credits created by the 2009 stimulus law, according to public records and information provided by the company." -- "Hagan's GOP opponent, state House Speaker Thom Tillis, voted in 2010 to allow the state to participate in the federal renewable energy tax credit program, which benefited a bank in which he owns at least $50,000 in stock. Hagan and Tillis denied acting improperly ... Financial disclosure statements show that the Hagans' income from JDC Manufacturing increased from less than $201 in 2008 to nearly $134,000 in 2013. Company representatives said higher rental income accounted for the uptick, not the stimulus-funded projects that were completed during that span. In a statement to POLITICO, the Hagan campaign said the senator did not help her husband win the federal funding and disputed any suggestion they have profited off the law." http://go.politicoemail.com/?qs=ea3125191eebbdff0f6cfc29254daa3447ae72591dc8b11dc747539ac570875d http://go.politicoemail.com/?qs=ea3125191eebbdff0f6cfc29254daa3447ae72591dc8b11dc747539ac570875d -- "GOP preps for battle after Election Day," by Anna Palmer and Manu Raju: Runoff fever: Catch it! "Top Republican strategists are quietly preparing to pour money into Louisiana after November, even reserving hotel rooms and millions of dollars' worth of ad time. ... The situation is similar in neighboring Georgia, where campaigns for both parties are prepared to ratchet up turnout if the race goes to a nine-week runoff ending in January." http://go.politicoemail.com/?qs=ea3125191eebbdff45132bd2ca32eb343e10ecfe439079b245f800dbbeb016e1 http://go.politicoemail.com/?qs=ea3125191eebbdff45132bd2ca32eb343e10ecfe439079b245f800dbbeb016e1 Daybook: RGA chairman Chris Christie travels to Michigan today for two campaign stops with Gov. Rick Snyder. Later, he'll hit Camp Hill, Penn., for a 7 p.m. event for the Republican Party of Pennsylvania. Gov. Tom Corbett will be there. -- On Monday, Christie's planning events to support Wisconsin Gov. Scott Walker and Ohio Gov. John Kasich, as well as other local Republicans. FACTCHECK.ORG WHOPPER OF THE WEEK - "Rep. Tom Cotton, the Republican candidate for U.S. Senate in Arkansas, hijacked this week's award with a TV ad that tries to rewrite four decades of history. In defending his vote this year against the farm bill, Cotton claimed that President Obama "hijacked the farm bill, turned it into a food stamp bill." Food stamp funding has been part of farm bills going back to 1973. Contrary to the ad's contention, it was House Republicans who were trying to upend congressional precedent by attempting to separate food stamps from the farm bill. Cotton was responding to Democratic ads that criticize him for being the only member of the Arkansas congressional delegation to vote against the farm bill."
