Dear Truman Members,

After a comprehensive search, we are excited to announce the selection of
Jenna Ben-Yehuda as President and CEO of Truman Center and Truman National
Security Project.

We are grateful to all of you, who are the heart and soul of Truman. You
nominated candidates and offered valuable feedback during the selection
process, both as individual members and through the Membership Advisory
Board Committee.

During the four-month selection process, the Board and selection committee
met with a truly outstanding group of candidates and nominees. That such
excellent candidates participated in this process is a testament to the
continued power and potential of this organization and community.

Jenna Ben-Yehuda brings tremendous passion, experience, and vision to lead
Truman into its next phase. Her career draws from the core values of Truman
members, with experience in national security, grassroots organizing and
advocacy, and private sector management. Jenna served for 12 years at the
State Department where she also worked closely with the Defense Department
and intelligence community. After leaving government, she founded and led
the Women’s Foreign Policy Network. She also brings significant experience
from the private sector in building a successful consulting practice. While
Jenna is not a Truman member, she shares our commitment to Truman’s goals
of political and electoral impact now and in the future.

Jenna has already begun introducing herself to the Truman community and
will do so more broadly as she steps into the role on March 18, 2019. The
board, selection committee, and members of the Truman community who have
worked with Jenna were impressed by her vision, passion, and commitment to
this community. In fact, we received many recommendations and endorsements
from members about Jenna’s leadership, vision, and character, which weighed
significantly in the board’s selection. We are thrilled that Jenna is
joining the Truman family as the next President and CEO.

Here are a few things Truman members had to say about Jenna:

“Jenna possesses all of the abilities Truman needs in a new leader. She has
deep working knowledge of U.S. foreign policy (including regional
expertise) and her career has been guided by a firm belief in all of the
core Truman tenets: namely in the need for strong diplomacy,
multilateralism and U.S. engagement and leadership in international
affairs.”

“Beyond having a strong foreign policy foundation and ‘Truman compass,’
Jenna is a natural consensus builder and community leader.”

“Jenna has an ability to pull people in by listening and offering
thoughtful perspectives, suggestions, and feedback. She’s become a DC
celebrity among women in our foreign policy world: our recent hire in my
office jumped with excitement when she heard Jenna's name -- 'not Jenna
Ben-Yehuda from WFPN??’ I believe that with Jenna's background and passion
for both policy and messaging, she could lead Truman in providing a
productive and exciting environment for all of our membership cohorts.”

“Jenna’s as well rounded as can be, and Truman would be lucky to have such
a driven, inspiring, and exciting person to lead us into our next steps.”

We want to offer our deepest thanks to Bishop Garrison for his tremendous
service as interim Executive Director of Truman Center and Truman Project
during this transition period. We are grateful for Bishop's willingness to
take on this responsibility just a few short weeks after joining the Truman
staff as Managing Director of Policy and Advocacy, and for the steady hand,
commitment, and integrity he brought to the role. In his brief time as
interim Executive Director, he raised $500,000 in new funding. He
established a series of community discussions on race, gender, privilege
and its relation to the national security pipeline. He also expanded
partnerships within the greater natsec community to include Protect the
Investigation and NAACP. We look forward to continuing this important work.
