President Donald Trump on Wednesday called the potential explosive devices delivered to high-profile Democratic figures and the CNN New York studios "despicable acts" and said the full force of the U.S. government was conducting a "major federal investigation."

"Acts of political violence of any kind have no place in the United States of America," Trump said.
