BUSCH (Ph.D., Columbia University) is an expert on international trade policy and law, author of the book Trade Warriors, and articles in the American Journal of Political Science, American Journal of Sociology, British Journal of Political Science,Fordham International Law Journal, International Organization, Journal of Conflict Resolution, Journal of World Trade, World Politics and World Trade Review. He has been warded research grants from the National Science Foundation, the Social Sciences and Humanities Research Council of Canada, the John M. Olin Foundation, the John D. and Catherine T. MacArthur Foundation, the Institute for the Study of World Politics, Georgetown, Queen's, Harvard, and Columbia. He serves as a member of the Industry Trade Advisory Committee on Standards and Technical Trade Barriers (ITAC-16), a public-private group reporting to the U.S. Department of Commerce and United States Trade Representative. He has previously taught at Queen's University and Harvard. He has received awards for teaching at all three institutions, including MBA Professor of the Module at Georgetown, the Executive MBA, AMBA, Cornell-Queen's, and MBA Society Teaching excellence Awards at Queen's School of Business, and Harvard's Thomas Hoopes Teaching Prize. In 1997, he was nominated for the Joseph Levenson Teaching Award at Harvard for best junior faculty undergraduate professor. In 2004, he received the Frank Knox Teaching Excellence Award for the best undergraduate professor at Queen's University. In 2010, Forbes Magazine named his course, "Business, Government, and the Global Economy," to its list of the Top 10 Most Innovative MBA courses in the United States. He has addressed a wide variety of governments and international institutions, including the Advisory Centre on WTO Law, the Swedish International Development Cooperation Agency, the World Bank and the United Nations.
