Dear Yale Club Member,

As we embark on our annual update and appeal, it is a pleasure to report that the Fifty Vanderbilt Foundation is now well established and moving forward. We extend our deep gratitude to the late Scott Glasock for his bequest of more than $1 million that now comprises the Foundation's endowment. With the adoption of the Foundation's investment policy, returns on this investment can be used for the preservation of our Clubhouse in accordance with our charter.

To fund this years' objective of $55,000 for exterior brick tucking, the Foundation is hosting a Casino night. It promises to be a great evening of gambling on the roof and poker in the library. We hope can join us, dressed in festive / cocktail attire from 6:30 to 10:30 pm this Friday, October 19. As a further source of funds, we will seek to hold a black tie gala every other year, in conjunction with the award of the J. Scott Glascock Yale Club Medal. We appreciate the attendance and support so many of you provided for the last Medal gala honoring Marian Wright Edelman.

As we grow to fully embrace the Foundation's mission, which includes scholarships and promoting the work of James Gamble Rogers, we'll think of new ways to fund raise including bequests such as the generous gift left by Scott. The Trustees would like to invite you to consider the Foundation in your philanthropic and estate planning bequests.
